The London based Danish artist has been
commissioned to create Tracing Light - three events
with light as their main component - in Farnham,
Surrey.
Three creations by Danish artist Tine Bech will
brighten up Farnham on Saturday 18 October as a light
Trail, a light installation and a light workshop create
a connection between art and the local community. The
evening will begin with the Light Trail, which runs
between different buildings in Farnham.
Tine Bech has also created an Interactive Streetlight
Installation that uses an eco-friendly form of
lighting, and finally, she will conduct a Light
Workshop to engage with the local community. This
workshop is connected to an Arts & Science project
led by two local universities. Commenting on the
project, Tine Bech said: “The aim of Tracing
Light is to connect places and engage people. Light is
a powerful substance. We have a primal connection to
it. With the Interactive Streetlight Installation, the
Light Trail and the Light Workshop we are seeking to
create a dialogue - a pulse – between the
audience and the artwork and to make their experience
an essential part of the work."
Tracing Light has been commissioned by Farnham Creates,
an informal grouping of the town's principal creative
organizations.
