Illumination

GSCE School project (2009) commissioned by University for the Creative Arts and the University of Surrey

Illumination (2009) was an Arts and Science schools project created by artist Tine Bech and scientist Kathryn Harkup. The project is cross-disciplinary, and aimed to foster the importance of contextual learning and support a greater understanding of arts and science working together.

The project offered inspirational light drawing workshops to 10 different schools at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. A two-hour workshop included: a lecture on how artists and scientists use light, examples of inspiring light artworks, science experiments, making LED throwies and producing light drawings.
